Mazda Pulls Back the Curtain on the 2014 Mazda6
Mazda recently released a series of photos of the 2014 Mazda6 midsize sedan, which is due to make its official debut at the Moscow Auto Show running from August 27 to 30. The svelte sedan remains faithful to the Takeri concept vehicle, which uses the KODO – Soul of Motion design theme that has already proven popular with the Mazda CX-5 available at our Maine Mazda dealership right now. Needless to say, this car will be a real head-turner.
While the exterior may be earning headlines right now, it’s what’s underneath that makes the 2014 Mazda6 a standout in the marketplace. The vehicle will feature the entire SKYACTIV technology suite, which covers everything from the chassis to the engine and aerodynamics. The goal is increased efficiency without losing the fun-to-drive nature Mazdas are known for, and it works. We’ve already seen the systems at work in the CX-5 and Mazda3, and the results have been nothing short of impressive.
That quest for efficiency goes one step further with Mazda’s i-ELOOP, which uses regenerative braking to help power the vehicle’s audio and climate-control systems. The technology, which is usually reserved for hybrid vehicles, reduces strain on the alternator to improve fuel economy by as much as 10 percent. Now that’s forward thinking.
We can’t wait for the next-generation Mazda6 to reach our showroom, but we shouldn’t have to wait long. The 2014 Mazda6 is due to go on sale early next year. If you can’t wait, stop by our dealership and check out the current Mazda6. We’re sure you’ll be impressed.
